Since our true life is to be found only in relation and reference to God, we must return to our natural position, which is in Paradise, in communion with God. After the fall of Adam and Eve and then the restoration of our relationship and communion with God through Jesus Christ’s death on the Cross and His Resurrection, this communion takes place in the Church, which is Paradise on earth.
The purpose of this unit is: the broadening of ecclesiastical history over time, the presentation of events, with particular emphasis on developments in the Church from its foundation until today, and the presentation of the fundamental principles of Orthodox Dogma.
A description of the historical and ecclesiastical context of the first eight centuries and of the interpretation of Holy Scripture, the texts of the Ecumenical Synods, and the theology of the Fathers of the Church.
